What should be included in the META description tag?

After the page title, the META description is the most important tag in your page header. It should be written as one or more sentences. You should provide a brief description for each page. The most important keywords or phrases for the page should be included. Many search engines use your META description in their list of ranked pages for a surfers search. Spy on your competitors by looking in their HTML source to see how they have worded their META descriptions. In HTML a META description tag appears as follows:
